Boys and Girls Clubs of Grand Rapids

The vision of the Boys and Girls Clubs is to provide a world class club and camp experience to help every young person who walks through their doors to be successful. Empowering youth to reach their full potential through education, recreation, and positive community experiences, the club aspires to have all members on track to graduate from high school with a plan for their future, continue to demonstrate good character and citizenship, and live a healthy lifestyle.

Boys and Girls Clubs believe their programs should provide participating youth with a sense of belonging, usefulness, competence, and influence. The after school core programs engage their young members through multiple diverse activities. The art classes enable youth to develop their creativity through visual arts, crafts, performing arts, and creative writing. Health and life skills classes encourage youth to achieve healthy, active lifestyles through learning healthy habits, Internet safety, and healthy attitudes. Character and leadership development classes focus on helping youth become responsible, caring citizens and provide opportunities for planning, decision making, contributing to the Club community, and celebrating our shared national heritage. The education and career development programs encourage youth to create aspirations for the future, and provide opportunities for career exploration and educational enhancement.

There are three clubs in the greater Grand Rapids area that reach over 3,100 youth, and one summer camp that serves approximately 600 children annually.
